PlantJournal
Interactive Figma Prototype
PlantJournal is an app that allows gardeners of all skill levels to easily keep track of their plants through logging notes, with the additional feature of community support. This design aims to make tracking multiple plants easier, and to encourage beginner hobbyists, while also accounting for the needs of experienced gardeners.
The concept for this project came at a time when I was greatly interested in plants and wondered how tough they were to take care of. I ended up asking some gardeners I knew how they managed to take care of all the different kinds of plants the had, what with their differing needs and health conditions.
Their stories gave me the idea to create an app to track and note the status of plants, with a focus on ease of use in the specific conditions a gardener faces during their everyday.
The result was an interactive Figma prototype where users could log their plants. They could then see information based on the location of their plant, as well as the logs they themselves put in. In practice, the app would sport notifications and reminders. However, the scope of this project was limited to a Figma prototype with only the main in-app features.
Below is the Figma prototype for the project. As a sidenote, you may need to refresh the prototype incase it freezes or stops working.
